The British Paralympic Association (BPA) is responsible for selecting, preparing, funding and managing the world-leading Great Britain and Northern Ireland team at the Paralympic Games – otherwise known as ParalympicsGB.
IT Lab has been supporting the British Paralympic Association since 2010, providing technology strategy, solutions and services, in particular, managed support services and cyber services, all designed to meet the unique needs of the BPA. Over this time, we have become a proud and truly trusted adviser to the BPA and becoming an Authorised Technology Consultancy Provider to this important organisation underpins this relationship.
IT Lab will assist ParalympicsGB as it works towards sending a best-prepared team to Tokyo 2020 following the incredible success of Rio 2016 where the team secured 147 medals eclipsing to finish second in the medal table.
The outstanding performances of ParalympicsGB athletes can also have a powerful impact on the British public shifting perceptions of disability in society and helping to inspire a better world for disabled people.
Peter Sweetbaum, CEO of IT Lab said: “We’re extremely proud to be the authorised Technology Consultancy Provider to the BPA. Nothing ignites the power to adapt more than the human condition. The capacity of a paralympian to adapt to their individual challenges creates opportunities for them to achieve things many never expected them to. While adaptiveness in business may not have the same human imperative, the mindset is no different. At IT Lab, we regard the ability to adapt is the ability to succeed.”
Karl Reynolds, Commercial Director of the BPA said: “We’re delighted to solidify our relationship with IT Lab through their status as Authorised Technology Consultancy Provider. The BPA is committed to excellence, honesty and trust, and these are the same values that we see embedded into the culture of IT Lab.”
Reynolds adds: “IT Lab’s cybersecurity team provided expert security consultancy to ensure the ParalympicGB team was protected and defended during the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Paralympics. IT Lab’s cutting-edge cyber consultancy and security operations, in conjunction with its robust and resilient Managed Services, will continue to build on this to ensure a successful Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
