Five Reasons You Can’t Miss Future Decoded

Written by Christine Ellis | 20 September 2019

Microsoft's Inspirational London Expo

One of the highlights in this year’s events calendar for business and IT decision-makers must be Microsoft’s Future Decoded expo. The technology behemoth and an incredible cast list of IT experts from across the globe are converging at ExCeL London on the 1st and 2nd of October.

With 15 keynote speakers – including some famous faces, over 40 Microsoft Partners, and a dazzling array of speeches and sessions, your only challenge will be choosing between them.

We set out five reasons why you should escape your four walls and tell your team you’re going on an adventure with 12,000 of your peers.

Compelling Speakers

Keynote speakers include Major Tim Peake – the first British astronaut to walk in space, and Dr Helen Sharman, the first British cosmonaut. Back on terra firma, we have Christian Horner of the Red Bull Formula One team. As you would expect, huge names from Microsoft will be there too, including accessibility champion Jenny Lay-Flurrie. We featured Jenny in a blog: How Microsoft Empowers Inclusion and Accessibility in the Workplace.

As well as the keynotes, there are just shy of 100 other speakers, representing a multitude of specialisms and industries – you can see the full list here.

Don’t be Left out in the Cold for the Big Reveal

One of the themes of the event is ‘Defining Trends’. One you won’t have escaped is the explosion in AI – artificial intelligence. The team at Microsoft has curated ground-breaking research into the AI revolution. There will be an exclusive reveal to help you prepare your business for the future before your competitors do.

Connect with the Experts You Need

IT Lab will be at the expo, alongside IT Lab company (and event Gold Sponsor) Content and Code at stand #57.

We’ll have experts from every IT discipline available - including our Dynamics 365 team, so whatever your burning issue, we’re ready to connect you to the right person.

Content and Code’s MVPs (Most Valuable Professionals) Chris O’Brien, Steve Goodman and David Bowman are delivering two theatre sessions: one on Teams, Flow and the Power Platform and another on the Future of working - building an employee focussed digital workspace.

There will also be ten overview presentations by Content and Code and IT Lab from stand #57:

  • Modern Workplace (MW): M365 - technology pillars of MW.
  • Digital Workspace - Fresh as an O365 accelerator.
  • Microsoft Managed Desktop - the next generation of managed desktop.
  • IT Support – different types of services, help desk, SOC, NOC, O365 support and SharePoint.
  • Cyber – the cyber pillars, the consequences of poor cyber rigour, advice on EMS and Cyber Essentials PLUS.
  • Teams – functionality, change management, user adoption.
  • Azure – a tour.
  • Fast Track – services available, quick wins, mini case studies.
  • Modern SharePoint – Development, PowerApps and Flow.

If you’d like more details, let us know - we’ll put you in touch with the team.

Invest in Yourself

With the pressures and demands of the day job, you could be forgiven for staying behind to carry on running your business or fire-fighting. But that would be to miss the fundamental aim of the event. You’ll learn how to leverage technology to grow your organisation, empower your users, and better serve your customers.

Equip yourself with the knowledge you need to succeed in today’s rapidly changing digital landscape - don’t allow your competitors to forge ahead.

Meet Your Peers

With 12,000 visitors expected, you’re bound to come across some old faces and will have plenty of opportunities to grow your network too. Just be sure to take a stock of business cards!
